warabi mochi
Back again and thought I would just touch base for those that are following my blog.
Has been a busy few weeks that is for sure. Good though, and am enjoying life. The weather is getting warmer, the days are fruitful and learning new things. The past couple of days have been working on image acquistion for cancer. Kind of exciting when I am responsible for some leading work regarding cancer and have to make the images for it which will appear in some medical journal in the near future! Proofreading, translating and editing as well. Sure makes the day go by quickly. Not to mention, trying to work on my paper in the meantime. Phew!
Found an interesting site that may be worth checking out. Has some good links and an interesting one regarding the New Yorker on happiness. Check it out here http://peechramji.blogspot.com/
Other things, well, just been spending time with Mom and checking out restaurants and cafes around Tokyo. Went to a very cool cafe yesterday with good friend Z and had the best warabi mochi. I think it is on par with the warabi mochi that I had in Kyoto! Was unbelievably soft and melted in your mouth with the pure black sugar from Okinawa... ahh.. For those that are unfamiliar with the dessert, you will have to look it up. Definitely one of my favourites that is for sure! Unfortunately cannot reveal the place, but if you drop me a line, perhaps I might tell you.. But you have to be a REAL warabi mochi fan for me to give it to you.. They also have ma-cha!
Haven't really been contemplating life that much, been too busy to notice the simple things that go by, which is not good.
To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is my symphony.
